A little about me

I am currently a graduate student in the Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. As a curious individual with an interest to engage in the design and development of products that impact the world, I have acquired technical expertise in application software development through my work experience, internships and a variety of projects.

I work as a software engineer at TIMAN Labs and am developing TextData with my team. Check it out, it's a cool product and am very excited to be involved in its development!

I am a Research Assistant under Professor ChengXiang Zhai (☀️ my prof! :D ☀️) where I'm building an intelligent regulatory change management system for compliance offers in the healthcare industry. My (current ) interests span the areas of Software Development, Information Retrieval, NLP, Human Computer Interaction. (list keeps getting longer each year)

Research and Development Intern

ARCO/Murray Design Build, Chicago, Illinois

Fall: Sep 2023 - Dec 2023

Leveraged DeepSolar, a deep learning framework, to scan satellite images of Chicago and its suburbs and generate a comprehensive database of solar installations within this region.
Deployed AWS EC2 instances and setup S3 buckets to efficiently source, process & store over 500,000 satellite images using the Google Static Maps API & employed Amazon Mechanical Turk for manual annotation.

Summer: May 2023 - Sep 2023

Collaborated on the full stack application development of an energy analysis app that facilitates 3D modeling of buildings (React, Three.js) and processing over 200 input parameters to generate building energy analysis and cost estimates.
Reduced manual cost analysis time from 50 hours to 5 hours per project that ensured a 90% increase in productivity.
Developed an AI-driven chat-bot (web app) using Langchain, React, Pinecone and the ChatGPT API as the back-end, with a focus on streamlining and enhancing access to organizational data.
Streamlined setup and CRUD operations for AWS S3 Storage buckets and led the complete implementation and interaction of the application’s database in Supabase’s PostgreSQL.

Research Assistant

Building a digital library where users can save and share parts of websites to various communities, search over these submissions, and make connections among the submissions. Currently used by over 400 students in UIUC.
Interpreted requirements, created concept designs and user flows, generated and iterated on prototypes on Figma and developed front-end web UI using React, Next.js, and a server backend (Flask, MongoDB, AWS Opensearch).

June 2021 - June 2022

Worked on backend API development using reactive programming concepts in Java to parallelize multiple API calls and integrate them into a single service.
Developed service using ReactJS, PostgreSQL, Spring boot and implemented Junit testing. Unit tested each module using the Mockito framework, and load tested the RESTful APIs in Apache Jmeter.
Performed comprehensive analysis on a legacy service and developed UI mockups on Figma for the new service
